It is all too easy to romanticize bygone eras as simpler times or we could smugly vilify ignorance of early settlers and the unwitting destruction of delicate eco systems. Hindsight distorts the lens of perception. Focusing on form, colour and texture Tis Milner-Nichols selects materials for their inherent qualities. The resultant sculptural language develops a narrative to explore the gap between encounter and identification. |
